What is Jikiden Reiki?
Reiki (Usui Reiki Ryoho) is an art of hand healing originated in Japan by Master Mikao Usui in 1922 .
The original Reiki teaching of Mater Mikao Usui to Dr. Chujiro Hayashi and spread to the world.
Jikiden Reiki is a form of Usui Reiki Ryoho directly taught by Dr. Chujiro Hayashi to the Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi. Jikiden means “directly passed down” “directly taught” Jikiden Reiki is authentic Japanese Reiki linage, it has no Western influence. It is very pure and simple but very powerful and effective.

About my Reiki Journey.....
I was born and raised in Osaka, Japan. My early career ambition was to be a dietitian. I studied a program at a local College for 2 years. My later work experience included a cable radio station for 6 years and a tour guide in Australia for a period of one year. A few years later, I moved to Canada.
I started my Jikiden Reiki journey in 2012, it has been an exciting learning experience ever since. I still remember vividly the first day of the Reiki seminar. My only son was suffering from a high fever of 39 degrees celsius prior to attending. After first day of Reiki seminar, I went home and used what I had learned on the day, to try and aid his condition. All throughout the night I had applied what I learned from Reiki and in the morning my son had shown magnificent improvement. That event made me fall in love with Reiki deeply. Since then, I practice Reiki daily basis.
2015 was a wonderful year. I flew to Japan, where I was honor to become a Shihankaku (assistant teacher). Later that year, Jikiden Reiki head office made an exciting announcement - the Kyoto Congress would be held in 2016. I sign up to attend without any hesitation.
Jikiden Reiki Kyoto Congress
Jikiden Reiki Kyoto Congress was held on Oct 1st and Oct 2nd at Kyoto Garden Palace. It was 2nd Jikiden Reiki congress and 1st Jikiden Reiki Congress to me to attend. More than 250 reiki practitioners from over 25 countries gathered for this event. I’m sure glad I attended. Kyoto Congress was a great experience, one of the best experiences of my life.
2018, my teacher Mari Okazaki said she wanted to bring Jikiden Reiki Congress to Vancouver. I enthusiastically agreed, and we established Jikiden Reiki Association of BC.
Jikiden Reiki North American Congress
October 19-20,2019, we held Jikiden Reiki North American Congress at Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Center in Burnaby, the theme of the congress was “Being close to Japan, being close to Chiyoko’s spirit “ As Reiki, which originated in Japan, is becoming increasingly westernized, this event was an opportunity to remember and reconnect with the original Reiki passed down from Mikao Usui to Chujiro Hayashi and then to Chiyoko Yamaguchi.Teachers who had studied directly under Chiyoko Yamaguchi participated as speakers to share their experiences and insights. The congress was initiated by Mari Okazaki who resides in Chilliwack (& Japan) I served as one of the five directors of congress team, in charge of catering, optional events, and registration. More than 150 Jikiden Reiki practitioners gathered from the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, and other countries. Jikiden Reiki North American congress was massive success. I’m very grateful to everyone who attended the North American Congress.
One of my biggest dreams has come true. Finally, I finally became Shihan (Teacher ),on August 23rd, 2022.
